Earlier this afternoon 343 Industries own, Frank O’ Connor took to Twitter announcing that Halo 5: Guardians had “plenty of chance” of arriving on PC. You could only imagine the amount of stir this statement may have caused. While this is something many fans of the franchise have been wanting since Halo 3, unfortunately Microsoft has just pulled the chair from beneath our asses.
The head of marketing of Microsoft tweeted shortly afterwards that “This is not true” and that the game is being made exclusively for Xbox One. We all know Microsoft is in desperate need for Halo 5 to stay as an Xbox One exclusive to help boost sales, even though they are slowly going back to their PC gaming roots; it seems Halo 5 just is not apart of that package.
As the demand for PC releases grow, and PC gaming skyrockets in general, there is a good chance we may see Halo 6 release on Windows 10. I would think by then, the Xbox One will have ran it’s course, and perhaps be ready to be cycled out, we’ll see what happens.
Halo 5: Guardians releases next Tuesday on October 27th.
