EA’s Star Wars: Battlefront was the hype of the holiday season last year, and the company seems to be revving up the game once more for it’s first official expansion.
Star Wars: Battlefront ‘Outer Rim’ will be the first expansion for the title, and has recently been announced to be arriving on April 5th, for a price of $14.99. Those who have purchased season pass for the title will receive ‘Outer Rim’ as well as every other expansion two-weeks ahead of everyone else. Ultimately meaning, if you do in fact have a season pass, you should receive the title sometime on the 22nd of March.
This expansion, Outer Rim, will contain two new multiplayer maps on in which taking place in a factory on Sullust, the other inside of Jabba’s throne room and on his sail barge on Tatooine. Two new weapons will be available as well, the Relby-V-10 rifle and DT-12 blaster pistol. The expansion will also come with three new star cards, the Scatter Gun, Dioxis Grenade, and the Adrenaline Stim. New hero characters are also on the way, with both Greedo and Nien Numb playable. Lastly, a new game mode, Extraction, will be available, where players will bring valuable shipment back to their transport ship, whilst the Empire trying to stop you before you reach the set extraction point. As with most expansion, the level cap for this title will also increase, making the jump to level 60.
With three more expansions planned for Star Wars: Battlefront, it seems players of the title are in for the long run, with plenty of content to come on the way! The last expansion is currently planned to arrive on 2017.
