Rocket League Xbox One And PC Cross-Play Coming

Microsoft recently pulled the curtain off a pretty big feature that is soon to make it’s way to the Xbox One, a feature that should make EVERYONE happy.

That big feature is in fact, cross-play, that’s right. Microsoft announced earlier Monday that they will be enabling multi-platform cross-play, sometime down the road for the Xbox One. Xbox One users will soon be able to compete with both PC and PlayStation 4 users online for various games that are available on all platforms.

One of the first titles that this feature will in fact be working with, so it seems, is Rocket League.  Psyonix announced that the feature was on the way for Xbox One, with PlayStation 4 and PC Rocket League players, already able to connect with each other. The company stated that more information regarding how the games will be played between the two platforms, will be coming later this Spring, as well as “information regarding other platforms.”

“To say that the team here at Psyonix is both honored and excited to have Rocket League as the first cross-network game is a massive understatement, Pysonix wrote. “Cross-network play has been the number-one most requested feature our community has asked for since Rocket League was first announced on Xbox One, and now that we are able to pursue complete online unity on all platforms, today’s announcement is a dream come true.”

It seems with this new cross-play console feature coming to the Xbox One down the road, and Psyonix looking to take cross-play to the next level with Rocket League, at some point everyone (regardless of what platforms you’re playing on) will be able to play everyone, a TRUE League, might I say.

It will be very interesting to see how this all turns out. In the meantime, will keep you up to date with any further updates regarding Microsoft’s new cross-play feature that’s on the way, as well as further Rocket League developments!
