Star Wars Battlefront had a pretty rocky launch during Holiday of last year, however, as we heard during E3 2016, EA is still hard at work on improving the title and readying up the remaining DLC releases for the game.
Recently announced during the Star Wars Battlefront Celebration Event which took place in Europe, it was announced that the fourth and final DLC pack for the game will be based upon the upcoming Star Wars: Rouge One movie.
Star Wars: Rouge One will be releasing this December, and with that in mind we won’t be seeing the final Battlefront DLC till sometime early 2017. The DLC is set to take place on the planet Scarif which has been featured in the recent Rouge One trailer. Felicity Jones’ Jyn Erso will be one of the playable characters, with Director Orson Krennic as the villian. While it’s likely many other characters will play some sort of significant role in the DLC, further details are yet to be announced.
While I’m not a huge Star Wars fan, it’s quite awesome to see the title getting DLC based off of a movie release, only a few months after the movie is released, this December. Star Wars Battlefront has also been confirmed to have a sequel arriving sometime during late 2017, so there won’t be that much large of a gap between the time the pack 4 DLC is released, and the official sequel is released.
