When I first heavily jumped into PC Gaming back in 2010, Quake Live was one of the titles I spent countless hours playing, yet not improving at all. Despite that, I’ve since grown a crazy affection for the game, and have been dreaming of an official sequel ever since. Quake Champions is that very sequel I have been dreaming of, and honestly, I couldn’t be any happier that it’s finally on the way.
During the QuakeCon 2016 keynote speech which recently took place, the company finally unveiled the first ever gameplay footage for Quake Champions, all packed in a Gameplay Trailer. As you can see, the game still features that “Quake” look and feel. The class based Hero’s implementation is currently receiving a bit of backlash, and while I personally would even prefer the game without “classes”, it definitely doesn’t break the game for me, as long as they stay in tact with the roots of Quake for everything else.
If you’re just as excited to get your hands on Quake Champions as I am, you’ve got quite a wait ahead, as the Bethesda has revealed that the game will be going into Closed Beta sometime during 2017.
