More Zombies Are On The Way In Metal Gear Survive

If you told me the next Metal Gear title would be focused around Zombies five years ago, I would have believed you. If you would have told me the next Metal Gear title would be focused around Zombies ten years ago, I still would have believed you.

As if we never get enough Zombie titles, Konami has announced their first standalone Metal Gear title (without Kojima), and it’s receiving mixed feelings, just as it should. The title is called ‘Metal Gear Survive’, and it takes place right after the events of Ground Zeroes. The plot revolves around the remaining members of the destroyed Mother Base, which has since been removed from our reality and swapped to a more post-apocalyptic one.

Players will be able to team up into groups of four and fight off the biological threats, which function basically just like Zombies. Konami has stated the game will be stealth-based, but the action in which the trailer contained, seems to say otherwise.

Despite what seems to be Konami’s desperate attempt at keeping Metal Gear relevant without the work of Kojima, the game still looks nice thus far, even though I feel Zombies are the most played out thing in entertainment history.

Metal Gear Survive is set to launch on PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC in 2017. Feel free to get a taste of the action yourself, by viewing the announcement trailer below.
