Ghost Recon: Wildlands was one of the more highly anticipated titles of 2016, that was unfortunately pushed from it’s initial Holiday launch date or December 2nd, to early 2017. These sort of things seem to be happening much more often now, as developers are now beginning to be a bit careful when it comes to releasing their product. 2014 and 2015 saw the release of quite a handful of titles which launched with major bugs, and it seems many other studios have begun to take notice.
Despite the delay of Ghost Recon: Wildlands, Ubisoft has announced that an Open Beta is currently in the works for the game, and will be arriving sometime during “next quarter”; according to CEO Yves Guillemot.
Ubisofts recent quarter concluded during September, with their current quarter taking place from October-December. While an official release date for the Open Beta hasn’t been announced, it’s quite likely that we’ll see it sometime during January of 2017, as that will be when the company’s next quarter kicks off. CEO Yves Guillemot also stated that there will be closed betas as well; the primary purpose of these to be to help players understand what the game is all about.
We expect in the next quarter to do some open betas and closed betas that will help a lot on the players to actually know what the game is and what it can become. We are very confident it will excite gamers a lot.
Ghost Recon: Wildlands will arrive on March 7th, for PlayStation 4, PC, and Xbox One.
