Shovel Knight has without a doubt been one of the more popular Indie titles that have released during this gaming generation, and definitely put platfomers back onto the map. If you haven’t yet gotten your hands on the title yet, you’ll soon have yet another platform option to play the title on.

The developers of Yacht Club Games have recently announced that Shovel Knight will be coming to Nintendo’s upcoming platform, the Nintendo Switch. The title will arrive on the console alongside it’s two DLC releases “Plague of Night” and “Spector of Torment“. Both DLC releases will be bundled in with the Switch release version of the title, so you won’t have to worry about purchasing them separately.  The entire package will be called “Shovel Knight: Treasure Trove“, and will also feature a two-player co-op campaign mode if you’d like to play with your friends.

In addition to this, Yacht Club Games is also planning even more Shovel Knight content in 2017, with two separate releases including “Shovel Knight: Kings Knight Campaign” which is set to be a new campaign centered around the King’s Knight. The second release being”Shovel Knight: Battle Mode“, which is shaping up to be a sort of 4-player brawler, sort of similar to Super Smash Bros.

Both upcoming releases will be sold separately, however the “Battle Mode” will not be available on either Nintendo 3DS or PS Vita.

Shovel Knight is a great game if you are looking for a fresh, yet sort of nostalgic, platformer feeling. The Nintendo Switch has been highly rumored to launch on March 17th, so you can probably expect the title to be available for the console, sometime shortly after it’s launch.
