Battle Royale titles have seemingly found a place in literally everyone’s hearts, and while the fun has only just begun with the genre on the console platform, it seems many developers are ready to start bringing their PC versions of their infamous Battle Royale games, over to  console in order to gain more traction and to keep things relevant – especially in a robust Battle Royale market that we are seeing today.

While H1Z1 on the PlayStation 4 will for the most part continue to be the H1Z1 Battle Royale we’ve all come to know and love, the game will instead go in a bit of a different direction to make things a bit more console friendly. H1Z1 on the PlayStation 4 will feature a “grab-and-go equipment system, simplifying loot collection and inventory management; a familiar radial weapon menu so players can quickly switch between guns and grenades; and a revamped HUD that delivers vital information at-a-glance. The crafting system has also been removed from the game.”

In addition to the new weapon system, a new loot system will also be introduced that will incorporate air drops.

“Mass airdrops are released throughout the map, through which players may pick up familiar weapons like the AK and AR, as well as the new KH43, Marauder, Combat Shotgun, CNQ-09, Scout Rifle and MK46,” Daybreak Games said. “Airdrops serve as the primary way to secure higher powered armor, which have been retooled to provide players with a health bonus.”

Daybreak is set to hold a closed beta period for H1Z1 on the PS4 this weekend, with registration now open for player’s who are interested. You can also now pre-order a cosmetic bundle for the PS4 version of the game for $29.99

H1Z1 is set to arrive on PlayStation 4 on May 22nd.
