As we’ve reported recently, Nintendo’s Direct Presentation was set to take place today, and while the broadcast has long since concluded, the hype is just now settling in from the announcements which took place, some of which were heavily aimed at more specific audiences than others.

One of these audiences was perhaps one of Nintendo’s most passionate, and under-looked fan-base/community. That’s right, I’m talking about the Animal Crossing community. The Animal Crossing franchise has received more attention than ever as of lately, especially in the West. From the massive success of 2013’s Animal Crossing: New Leaf, to the franchises debut on mobile platforms via Animal Crossing: Pocket Camp in 2017, it’s not surprise that the Animal Crossing fan base is one the rise, and everyone wants more!

Well, during today’s Nintendo Direct Nintendo did just that – they gave us more. Not only did the company finally reveal that the next main-line Animal Crossing entry would be headed to the Nintendo Switch in 2019, but the company also revealed that franchise newly fan favorite character, Isabelle, would be the latest playable character revealed for Super Smash Bros. Ultimate.

So much Animal Crossing goodness! Now, I’m obviously a bit biased about all of this, as Animal Crossing with arguably my all-time favorite Nintendo franchise, but today truly seems like a day Nintendo had Animal Crossing fans in mind, especially. While no information was revealed regarding Animal Crossing on the Switch, it’s quite likely the game will see a Holiday 2019 release date, as localization is likely to take a bit of time, and it seems the game doesn’t even have a tentative title as of yet.

Isabelle however will be playable in Super Smash Bros. Ultimate when the game launches this December! I suppose until the office work calls to her in 2019, she’ll be jamming it out in Smash in the meantime.
