We all knew this day was eventually on it’s way, the official departure if Nintendo’s infamous President of their Americas brand – Reggie Fils-Amie. That’s right, after a few years of speculation, it was almost certain that things were headed in this direction, but now it’s official.

Earlier today, Nintendo social media platforms released a special video by Reggie himself, where he professionally announced his retirement to the entire Nintendo community, all bundled within a very heart-felt message. If you haven’t seen the video yet for yourself, I’d definitely recommend doing so. Reggie has been a very prominent figure within the video game community ever since he TRULY came on the scene back in 2004; though he’s been with Nintendo for a much, much longer time than that.

Reggie will truly be missed, as well as all of his memes that will go with him. Reggie’s position will be succeeded by Doug Bowser, a man we were introduced to not too long ago. Doug Bowser is set to be take the throne of President of Nintendo of America sometime in April.

Nintendo fans, Reggie has a message for all of you. Please take a look. pic.twitter.com/EAhaEl5oEJ
