Ace Combat was one of the first true next-generation titles I ever got to get my hands on, during the start of the previous console generation. While I never officially owned the game myself, it always held a special place in my heart because it really did show me how capable gaming was becoming to simulating actual flying experiences, as well as how much games were truly improving – visually.
While it has been a pretty good while since we’ve last received an official Ace Combat title, it seems the development of the 7th iteration in the series has been coming along quite well, and it seems developers are about ready to show it off. Recently, an announcement was made over on the official Ace Combat Japanese Twitter account, which states Ace Combat 7 to be playable at the PlayStation Experience 2016, taking place this weekend, as part of Sony’s VR showcase.
This will mark the first time ever that the Ace Combat franchise will make it’s way to VR, and just like I said – the experience just keeps on getting more and more surreal. Needless to say, I do feel like VR and Ace Combat are the perfect match, and the developers have definitely made the right choice to make VR the main focus for the latest iteration. I just wish I could get my hands on it this weekend.
The PlayStation Experience will be taking place from DecemberĀ 3rd – 4th at theĀ Anaheim Convention Center.
