Just thinking about it makes me so stoked, you don’t even know! Ape Escape is without a doubt, hands down, my favorite Sony franchise of all time. I suppose Little Big Planet comes next in line, or maybe Parrapa….or maybe Jak X, honestly, I really don’t know; but if one thing is for sure, it’s that Ape Escape remains at the top. The original Ape Escape launched on the PS1, with both the 2nd and 3rd titles releasing on the PlayStation 2. Since then, the franchise has not yet seen another proper sequel.
Despite this, it seems Sony may have a bit of a surprise for us Ape Escape fans, as recent a PlayStation 4 trophy list has been spotted on Exophase, for Ape Escape 2. This could very well indicate that we will be receiving a remaster of the title at some point. It’d be a bit weird to receive a remaster for the second title only, a true collectors edition featuring Ape Escape 1-3 would truly bring tears of joy to my eyes.
While this apparent trophy list doesn’t exactly confirm anything, Exophase has been known for leaking several other titles right before they were officially announced, so we’ll just have to wait and see. Perhaps Sony is about to WOW us with an Ape Escape announcement at Gamescom? Dear god, I sure hope so.
