Bandai Namco will be headed to Gamescom which will be taking place in Germany this August, and the company is expected to have quite a big showing at the convention as well. Currently planning to show off previously announced titles that are soon to be released, the company also seems to have some other things up their sleeves that they are preparing to reveal during the convention.
Bandai Namco has recently announced that they will be showing off a brand new IP that they will be published, which is currently stated to be developed for “a western audience”. What’s that supposed to mean?
Regardless of what it may mean, the company seems to be pretty tight lipped about it, as no other details were revealed regarding the in-development IP. The company did however, release a small statement regarding their upcoming showing at Gamescom. Their statement contained the following:
“This year, again the world’s largest gaming fair will be home to hundreds of thousands gaming fans who gather in Cologne. We are bringing 3 very interesting projects this year. We are particularly pleased to be able to fulfill the desires of fighting game fans as they get the chance to experience the most impressive TEKKEN-game to date through near photo-realistic graphics with TEKKEN 7.”
Along with this, the company also stated that they will in fact be showing of DRAGON BALL XENOVERSE 2 and some it’s all new features.
I don’t know about you all, but I’m still patiently awaiting the official reveal for Tekken X Street Fighter, which feels like almost a decade since it’s announcement. Regardless though, be sure to have your eyes peeled on Bandai Namco at Gamescom this year, this new IP sounds mysterious enough to actually be interesting.
