Activision and Infinity Wards latest iteration within the Call of Duty franchise has been officially announced, after months of heavy rumors, mind you.
The title has now officially been confirmed as “Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare” after several sources have rumored this to be the official name for the title thus far.
We are headed to the future once again in this latest installation of Call of Duty, as the title will continue to build upon what the recent Black Ops games, as well as Advanced Warfare, has established. However, where Infinite Warfare will evolve the most from this, is taking things to an entire different setting, space!
The reveal trailer for the title which Infinity Ward has released officially confirms the game will definitely be taking place in space to some degree, as the trailer showcased a small ship battle, which was taking place in space. The company has confirmed that the game will contain “visceral boots-on-the-ground infantry combat as well as piloting combat vehicles.” With new mechanics making it’s way into the game, it seems things will still be taking place on-foot, for the most part, however a different setting will definitely add a pretty significant twist the the franchise as a whole.

One of the main things that you may have noticed with this Call of Duty reveal, has been the much more strong emphasis on the narrative. While many past Call of Duty reveals have been a bit cryptic as well, this one seems to have much more heavy of an emphasis on the story, as well as an overall stronger, more “mysterious” feel, behind the story and conflict taking place within the game. I’ll be honest, I’ve never played a single Call of Duty campaign in my entire life, mostly due to them coming off as completely unappealing to me in all aspects, however, with the reveal of Infinite Warfare, and how Infinity Ward as gone about it, I am at least a tad bit more interested to see what they have in store for the title, as far as the campaign is concerned.

Zombies have also been confirmed to be present in Infinite Warfare as well, being brought into space as well. Infinity Ward revealed that “Infinite Warfare will introduce an original cooperative Zombies mode that takes players on a wild ride through a new storyline with unique gameplay features and mechanics.” Zombies are yet another one of those Call of Duty features/game modes that I have never been that fond of, however bringing them into space as well, makes thing a tad bit more interesting. We are likely to hear much more on the Zombies mode as time goes on.

Probably the feature everyone is concerned about the most, is of course, the multiplayer. Details are still a bit slim regarding the multiplayer, as well; as Activision generally likes to save this bit till E3 to fully showcase, however the company is currently describing it as an “evolution of Call of Duty’s movement system with an emphasis on front-line engagement.” Many players have been worried about what sort of movement system would be implemented in this years Call of Duty, and it seems as of now, we’ll be receiving something much more different than what we’ve had in the past. This may not appeal to everyone, which why it’s nice to know that Activision has a back-up…
Lastly, the special edition of Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare, has been announced to be bundled with the highly rumored “Call of Duty: Modern Warfare Remastered”, which is arguably the best Call of Duty title, or at the very least, the best Call of Duty title within the Modern Warfare franchise. While an entire trilogy remaster has been requested by the fans for sometime now, this is obviously the second best thing, and has fans of the franchise ecstatic. The remastered version has been announced to contain the entire campaign, fully remastered, as well as 10 of the original game’s multiplayer maps, which will also be remastered in high definition. The remastered version of Modern Warfare has been announced to not be sold separately, so for those of you looking to pickup this dream piece of software, the only way to do so is by purchasing one of the special editions of Infinite Warfare.

Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare is available to pre-order now, with several special edition bundles. A Legacy Edition and Digital Deluxe Edition are currently available to pre-order at the price of $80, as well as a Legacy Pro edition ,which will run you $120.
Call of Duty: Infinite Warfare will be available on November 4th, 2016 for PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC.
