Dark Souls Remastered Has Been Delayed For Nintendo Switch

If you are a Switch owner and have been looking forward to embarking on the Dark Souls journey via it’s glorious remaster this May, you will unfortunately have to wait a little bit longer.

As we’ve seen with many other 3rd parties games that have been released for the Nintendo Switch, Dark Souls Remastered is unfortunately seeing a delay on the system – as the game has now been rescheduled for a “Summer of 2018” release. This delay also effects the Solaire of Astora amiibo as well, which was originally supposed to launch alongside the game on May 25th, but will instead launch during the games new release date which has yet to be confirmed.

Bandai Namco stated the following in regards to the delay –

“Due to the nature of causality, we must announce that the Nintendo Switch version of [Dark Souls Remastered] will be pushed back to summer of 2018, and with it, the release of the Solaire of Astora amiibo.”

While the company did not specify what exactly is the cause of the decision to delay the Switch version of the game, they did state that the delay will ultimately improve our experience of the game on Switch, so I suppose it’s for the best.

Dark Souls Remastered is still schedule to launch on May 25th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
