We’ve heard a lot of rumors and speculation regarding Destiny 2 awhile now, ever since Bungie basically confirmed it’s existence. One thing we’ve all learned for certain, is that the game has been pushed into 2017, with the recently released Rise of Iron expansion, taking it’s place. With Rise of Iron being a seemingly smaller expansion, many players are now back to pondering about Destiny 2, and what they should be looking forward to once 2017 comes around.
Recently over on NeoGAF, a user by the name of benny_a, made a post regarding some apparent leaked details he had received from an employee at Activision, claiming he knew the individual. The employee apparently explained to him that communications surrounding early details of Destiny 2, had already begun; these details include the game arriving on the PC platform, with Vicarious Vision and High Moon Studios helping alongside the development.
Kotaku has also shared some tidbit rumors in which they’ve received surrounding the game, including the apparent information that Destiny 2 will be a reboot of sorts, with the game being much different than what we’ve come to already know. Kotakus source stated “The Taken King was a reboot for Destiny 1 to fix small things. This is the overhaul to fix big things.”
As a huge Destiny fans, I’m not sure how I really feel about the game going through such a large reboot, for it’s second iteration. The lore and overall story, thus far, in Destiny 2 seems to barely scratch the surface of all their is to know. Instead of starting from scratch, which it sounds like Bungie just may be doing, I feel the company should focus much more on bringing the larger story picture back into the fold for Destiny 2, and continue from there.
