If you’ve been awaiting some brutal dungeon crawling action to take with you on the go via your Nintendo Switch, well, you’ll no longer have to wait much longer! After many rumors and much speculation, Blizzard and Nintendo have finally announced that Diablo III will in fact be heading to the Nintendo Switch platform as a release entitled the “Eternal Collection.” This ultimate collection of the game will include both the Reaper of Souls and Rise of the Necromancer expansions, along with all other previously added content the game has received throughout the years, all of the price of $59.99.
Now, if that’s not enough content for you, you’re probably a greedy person when it comes to video games, but that’s completely fine! I am as well! Luckily, Nintendo and Blizzard knows more is always better which is why they’ve included even more additional content exclusive to the Nintendo Switch version of the game. Switch owners of Diablo III will also receive in-game the Legend of Ganondorf cosmetic armor set, a Tri-Force portrait frame, a Chicken pet, and a Echoes of the Mask cosmetic wings. Blizzard! You got my Zelda all over my Diablo, thanks!
Overall, the Nintendo Switch version of Diablo III is going to be a very great experience for dungeon crawler fans who just want to play on the go. If you’re traveling with friends, up to 4 players can play together on a single switch, or you can also go the wireless route and all play together on your respective switches. Players will also be able to team up online and play together via the Nintendo Switch online service; speaking of which, the online service is also set to formally release this September alongside cloud saves which will also be eligible for this title.
Diablo III on the Nintendo Switch is most certainly a treat for Diablo fans who are also Switch owners. Hopefully this is only the beginning of what Blizzard has in store for Switch support, as seeing both HearthStone and maybe even Overwatch come to the Nintendo Switch would definitely be a dream come soon.
Diablo III: Eternal Collection launches on the Nintendo Switch this year, with an official release yet to be announced.
