Elder Scrolls Legends has been in beta for quite a long period of time; ever since Spring of 2016 if I’m not mistaken. The game definitely has it’s ups and downs, however, the biggest issue seems to be it’s struggle in standing out in a world with various other digital CCG constantly on the rise, as well as releasing. Elder Scrolls Legends is definitely one of the more well-designed, and visually appealing CCG’s out there, however some of the mechanics within the game are definitely bothering enough to take my eyes away, as they have been for several months now.
Despite this, Elder Scrolls Legends has finally officially launched on PC; so for those of you who for some reason have been holding out on trying the game, well you are now more than free to do so.
“We’re incredibly excited about all these platforms and with the game losing its beta tag on PC, we wanted to let our players known up front what they can expect for the future. If you are currently playing on PC, or plan to check the game out on PC, all of your information and decks will carry over once you take the experience to any of the devices listed above.”
While the official release of the PC version doesn’t exactly bring anything new aside from it’s “Beta” title; Bethesda definitely has more content on the way for the game within the coming months. For starters, the company has announced that the first major story campaign update for the game is arriving on April 5th, and is entitled “The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood.” The story features new PvE content with over 20 missions spread across three maps, ultimately bringing over 40 new cards into the fold. Buyers of “The Fall of the Dark Brotherhood” will also recive the Doom Wolf mount in The Elder Scrolls Online, however for only PC/MAC player.
In addition to the upcoming story content release, the game will also be seeing the arrival of a full spectator mode, Twitch integration, and support for in-game tournaments with a new mode entitled “Gauntlet Mode”. The Gauntlets are set to be limited-time in game tournaments where entrants will create a deck from the cards within their collection and will then compete against other players as they try to reach the top of the Gauntlet leaderboard. The Gauntlet events will run for a different length of time, and will also feature different prizes from month to month. All of these features are set to arrive this May; so if you are more of a competitive Elder Scrolls Legends player, this will probably interest you quite a bit.
The competitive features and additions alone are enough to respark my interest in the game, so I’ll likely be giving it yet another shot sometime very soon. Hopefully CCG players who have not yet given this game a shot, will do so , as it’s not a terrible game by any means.
Elder Scrolls Legends is available to download now for free on both PC and MAC.
