Far Cry 5 Has Officially Been Confirmed

Every other year or so, a new entry within the Far Cry series is pretty much expected from most of the gaming community. This has been the new trend for several different franchises now, as many once had “annual” releases, are now beginning to recive bi-annual releases for various reasons. With that said, a brand new Far Cry title is indeed in the works, however, it won’t be arriving this year – ultimately fitting it’s bi-annual release schedule.

Earlier this week, Ubisoft revealed that Far Cry 5 would be the latest entry in the franchise and will keep it’s open-world/first-person shoot roots. Far Cry 5 was confirmed right before the company’s earnings call took place, during which they confirmed that the title would be arrive before the end of the current fiscal year – March 31, 2018.

Aside from the announcement regarding the games existence, not much more was revealed from Ubisoft aside from the fact that we will learn more about the game “very soon”, which pretty much means “Be patient and wait for E3”, which we all are doing quite well….most of us, that is.

It will be interesting to see if Far Cry 5 manages to squeeze itself in 2017 as a Holiday release title, as that would still mark it as a current fiscal year title. Fall/the Holiday Season is generally when past Far Cry titles have released, so it will be a little strange to see Ubisoft stray away from such a critical window where gaming sales generally sky-rocket.

What are some things you hope to see in the next Far Cry title? Let us know in the comments or on social media @EXP4ALL
