Sony has their mind on the money and the money on their mind, officially. The company has recently announced that the price for their PlayStation Plus subscription will be seeing an increase, starting this September.
The company had the following to say:
“Starting on September 22, 2016, prices for PlayStation Plus memberships will change to $59.99 USD/ $69.99 CAD for twelve months and $24.99 USD/$29.99 CAD for three months. The monthly plan will change to $11.99 CAD in Canada, and remain $9.99 USD in the U.S. If you are a current member, the new prices will take effect if your membership renews on or after this date.”
No word has been announced as of yet in regards to whether or not other regions will see a price increase as well, however, the announcement has left many users with mixed feelings. PlayStation has been one of those platforms that haven’t had the most stable online service since it’s construction, however, things have definitely improved greatly with the release of the PlayStation 4, something that I cannot say the same for Microsoft with the 360 transition to the Xbox One.
September 22nd is when the price will officially go up, so be sure to cancel your automatic renewal, or re-subscribe, before then, to not be charged the new price.
