GWENT: The Witcher Card Game Closed Beta Begins

We’ve seen a lot of CCG’s pop up as of recent, ever since HearthStone took off back in 2013. While many of the CCG’s that are currently available are barely up-to-par in terms of quality, with the likes of HearthStone; there are a few up and coming titles that you’re probably going to want to keep your eye out for.

GWENT: The Witcher Card game, is one of them. GWENT is a spin-off card game from the Witcher Series, and was a sort of mini-game available to play within the actual “The Witcher” game.  In GWENT, that mini-game is heavily expanded upon, ultimately becoming a multiplayer focused CCG that we all know in love. While the full game is actually currently slated to have a in-depth single player campaign, it’s quite likely the meat and potatoes of this game will be the multiplayer – such as with most CCG’s.

Not too long ago, the developer took to KickStarter to have fans help fund the game. With the Kickstarter being successful, it’s been several months of fans eagerly waiting for the closed beta period to begin, and now, that time has finally come.  Officially kicking off today, Gwent: The Witcher Card Game is available to many of those who have signed up for the beta – the only way being through the official website. Invites are now going out to the people who did apply.

As of now, the closed beta is only taking place on Xbox One and PC, however, the title as a whole will be headed to PlayStation 4 at a later date.

The official length of the closed beta period has not yet been disclosed, but developers have stated that new features will be added to the game as the closed beta progresses.

If you are interested in singing up for the closed beta, you can definitely still do so, by visiting their official site.
