Gran Turismo fans have waited a long time, but alas, Polyphony Digital has finally announced their plans surrounding the closed beta period for the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport title via a message by the series producer, Kazunori Yamauchi.
On March 17th, select Gran Turismo fans will have their shot to experience the upcoming Gran Turismo Sport title within the first Closed Beta period for the game. Players will be able to select choose from a series of cars and tracks which will be set to rotate with each new day, and will then take to online multiplayer to compete with other players from around the globe. A array of vehicles, race class categories, and course configurations will be available as the developer aims to “give a glimpse of the full experience.”
Players will also be able to test out to the new Driver Profile feature, as well as the Sportsmanship Rating, which will keep track of your behavior throughout the duration of the race. There will also be a dedicated Driver Rating feature which will focus around keeping track of your overall driving speed and performance in general.
For those of you who may be worried about not being selected in the beta, it’s important to know that the developers will be holding several beta phases, which each new phase increasing the number of players and regions which will can partake in the beta. US beta invites have already gone out, with Phase 2 of the beta set to invite more players from the European region.
