Mario may have gotten his latest 3D adventure last year, but worry not, 2D Mario is set to return early next year once again, and I’m not talking about in Mario Maker.
During today’s Nintendo Direct presentation, the company unveiled ‘Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe’, which is essentially a direct port of Super Mario Bros. U for the Wii U, however also featuring all extra content from the original game, as well as some brand new content as well. Players will be able to plat as either Mario, Luigi, Toad, Peach, Toadette, and even Rabbit!
Now, Nintendo platforms have seen their fare share of the “New Super Mario Bros.” line of titles, and while I personally feel a bit burnt out by them, it’s nice to see them adding more to the game over time rather than it being just a direct port.
New Super Mario Bros. U Deluxe launches on the Nintendo Switch on January 11, 2019.
