As many people already know by now, last week Nintendo announced some very big Pokemon news – ultimately revealing and confirming the next Pokemon title set to arrive, and the first to arrive on the Nintendo Switch. This of course was the highly rumored “Pokemon Let’s Go! Pikachu & Let’s Go! Eevee,” titles. While the games have been confirmed to be re-imaginings of Pokemon Yellow version – Nintendo also confirmed that this is not the “main-line” Pokemon title they had recently announced they were working on. While we learned shortly after the reveal of Pokemon Let’s Go! that generation 8 Pokemon would be coming sometime next year – we really did not receive all that much information.

Today however, the CEO of the Pokemon Company, Tsunekazu Ishihara revealed via an interview with Famitsu that the core Pokemon title that is scheduled for 2019 will be arriving sometime during he second half of the year and will feature brand new Pokemon, while also boasting improved visuals of any other prior Pokemon title! Definitely sounds like we’re in for the most ultimate Pokemon title to date. He also confirmed that the game would be completely different from the Pokemon Let’s Go! titles.

While a lot of this is pretty obvious information, especially the release window, as Nintendo has recently been sticking with the “Holiday” release window for their Pokemon titles during the past several years – it is definitely exciting to hear that we’ll be receiving a rather hefty visual upgrade for the title.

Generation 8 Pokemon is set to launch on the Nintendo Switch during the second half of 2019.
