Quantic Dream, the studio behind Heavy Rain and Beyond: Two Souls revealed a trailer at Paris Games Week; their new IP is titled Detroit: Become Human. The trailer gave off some of the classic AI gaining sentience and emotion vibes that seem to be inspired by Do Androids Dream of Electric Sheep (and many other works which were influenced by the aforementioned novel). Supposedly, the game’s main character, Kara, was originally based on the character from a tech demo by Quantic Dream three years ago, also named “Kara” (though I haven’t played the demo or watched gameplay so I can’t say). While the trailer doesn’t show any gameplay, it still looks great and I would say I am at extra-medium hype after watching this trailer.
Detroit: Become Human is set to be a PS4 exclusive and re-releases of Heavy Rain and Beyond are also slated to be released for the PS4 as well.
