Splatoon Receiving New Tower Control Game-mode Tomorrow in Ranked Battle

While I’m still trying to figure out if I’m a squid or a kid, Nintendo on the other hand, clearly has the direction in mind that they are looking to bring Splatoon, and with that, continue to constantly push out new content.

Splatoon launched roughly a full month ago with only five maps and two gamemodes, and for a game that’s primary focus is online play, that’s really not exactly a lot to work with. Luckily for us though, since launch, Nintendo has been hard at work bringing us free DLC, constantly pushing the lifespan of the game.

Tomorrow, they’ve announced that they will be releasing a brand new game-mode which will be exclusive to ranked play, Tower Control. Seeming to be your typical King of the Hill style game-type, Tower Control will have you “Hop aboard the tower placed in the middle of the map, and ride it to your opponent’s goal. stay sharp—you’ll have to protect whoever’s riding the tower from enemy attacks!”

“Once someone jumps onto the tower, it starts moving along a set path toward the other team’s goal. If the tower doesn’t arrive at either goal before time runs out, the team that’s moved it closest toward their opponent’s goal wins. Ride the tower all the way into the other team’s goal though, and you’ll get a decisive knockout victory.”

So for all of you Splatoon players out there, get ready to squid up, because Tower Control will be available tomorrow at 7pm PST, 10pm EST.
