Quake is set to make a return this year, and with DOOM 2016 also being a pretty solid release, I personally feel Bethesda will do a great job with Quake Champions as well. Previously revealed during E3 2016, Quake Champions will for the most part, hold true to Quake roots as an arena-style competitive shooter; however, Champions within the upcoming Quake will all feature their own abilities and unique play-style, which is a first for the Quake franchise.
Obviously right off the bat, Bethesda’s Quake Champions will definitely be a much more modern arena-shooter style game, compared to how they’ve done things with the franchise in the past. While many are currently worried that this will be yet another flopped Quake title; I personally feel that Quake Champions is the only title that has a shot at competing with Blizzard’s Overwatch, but who knows, it’s way to early to tell.
If you’re like me and have been waiting to get your hands on this game ever since it’s reveal, well, you’re in luck! Quake Champions will be playable at PAX East 2017 this upcoming weekend; and while lines are likely to be long, I think it’ll definitely be worth the wait. If you won’t be at PAX East, well that’s fine too, as Bethesda has recently opened up registration for the Closed Beta for Quake Champions, which is likely to kick off very soon.
Quake Champions is set to launch later this year.
