It’s been a long time coming for Animal Crossing fans (this heavily includes myself), but finally, after what has felt like years – Nintendo has finally announced when fans can expect to receive the next big batch of information regarding the upcoming Switch entry in the franchise “Animal Crossing: New Horizons”.
The company announced earlier on social media this afternoon that they would be holding a special Animal Crossing Direct focused live-stream on Thursday, February 20th (exactly one month from the games official release), with the direct providing an “in-depth” look at the game.

With the Direct being only 25 minutes, it’s pretty safe to say that Nintendo will be only scratching the surface when it comes to showing off what New Horizons has to offer. This isn’t much of an issue, however, as fans haven’t received much concrete information regarding the game at all, since it’s reveal during E3 2019. During Nintendo’s Treehouse Broadcast which followed their E3 presentation, the company dedicated an entire segment to New Horizons, showcasing live- game-play, some of the games new features, as well as discussing the title with the developers. This was surprisingly the last time we received a large amount of information regarding the game, so here’s to hoping this Direct will be something similar!
Animal Crossing New Horizons launches on the Nintendo Switch on March 20th, 2020.
