An announcement that I honestly felt would have been much better off being revealed during E3 2016, has officially been announced today following series of leaks that hit the web during the past 48 hours or so.
That’s right, 2K Games has officially announced that we will be receiving a BioShock collection this September, officially titled “BioShock: The Collection”. The collection will contain all first three BioShock titles, along with all 3 games being fully remastered and containing some additional content. The collection is being developed by Blind Squirrel Games and will be releasing on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC for the price of $60.
For PC version of BioShock infinite, the developers have claimed that the title within the collection will not be receiving a visual update, due to the reason that the base game is already running similarly to the console remastered version. The developers have also confirmed that the multiplayer component of BioShock 2 will not be included in the package.
As far as additional content is concerned, the collection will come with a new video series entitled “Director’s Commentary: Imagining BioShock”, which is set to feature commentary from the creative director Ken Levine and the animation lead Shawn Robertson.
Additional content will also include a virtual Museum which is called Museum of Orphaned Concepts, this will be included with the original BioShock, and will include concepts that were left out from the original release.
Lastly, for those of you seeking a challenge; Challenge rooms are also being added and will feature puzzles that coincide with some of the new achievements that are up for grabs.
BioShock: The Collection will be arriving on Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC on September 13th. You can check out the official announcement trailer below for all of that Remastered goodness!
