Forget what you know. Or so we were told by Treyarch themselves. Today Treyarch finally unveiled their plans for Call of Duty in 2018 and have announced that Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 is in fact their upcoming Call of Duty game, due out before years end. This announcement comes only a day after they updated Call of Duty: Black Ops 3, which sort of provided a hint that the company was readying to announce the games sequel.
But let’s go back to that line for a second, “Forget what you know“, with many fans hoping and speculating the Black Ops franchise to return to more traditional “boots on ground” gameplay, one has to wonder if this line means we’re supposed to just forget the futuristic Black Ops we’ve come to know over the past few entries – or if we’re looking at an entirely different Call of Duty game in general. It’s hard to tell at this point, but the reveal trailer which was also recently released may provide some insight into exactly what the game may be like.
What a trailer right? If you’re still clueless as like me in regards to having any sort of an idea on what Black Ops 4 will be like, you’ll probably want to tune into the Community Reveal stream which will be taking place on May 17th. It will most likely provide us with a little bit of gameplay, or at the very least – a better idea on what type of setting Black Ops 4 will sport. Despite having very little information about the game, I must say that I am still stoked; as the Black Ops franchise is hands down my favorite Call of Duty franchise.
Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 launches Worldwide on October 12th for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
