The next Etrian Odyssey journey will be arriving on the Nintendo 3DS platform this year, and will in fact be it’s last time on the Nintendo 3DS!
Atlus announced during their recent live-stream that the next entry in the Etrian Odyssey series will be entitled “Etrian Odyssey X Cross” and will be arriving on the Nintendo 3DS. The company confirmed the game will be the final game in the series to arrive on a handheld, ending the series decade-long, handheld only streak.
This next entry in the series is set to be the most ambitious titles in the franchise yet, as the game will include many more labyrinths, mechanics and features from various past entries including; character creation, a sub-class system, difficulty settings, and much more. The game has been announced to feature the following classes, including a brand new one which is highlighted:
- Bushido
- Farmer
- Gunner
- Hero
- Highlander
- Imperial
- Landsknecht
- Medic
- Mystic
- Nightseeker
- Paladin
- Prince / Princess
- Pugilist
- Ranger
- Reaper
- Shinobi
- Shogun
- War Magus
- Zodiac
Without a doubt, players will have many options to choose from when they embark on their next dungeon-filled adventure later this year! While no information has been announced as of yet regarding when the Western audience will receive Etrian Odyssey X, it is quite likely that we won’t get our hands on it until very late 2018, or perhaps early 2019.
Etrian Odyssey X Cross launches on August 2nd in Japan.
