During the recent Fire Emblem Nintendo Direct which took place this week, Nintendo revealed a re-imagining Fire Emblem title which is in the works for the Nintendo 3DS entitled Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia.

Shadows of Valentia is set to be a re-imagining of the 1992 Fire Emblem title, Fire Emblem Gaiden; which was quite unique when compared to the more recent Fire Emblem releases as the game contained free-roaming. Fire Emblem Shadows of Valentia will be a re-imagining of Fire Emblem Gaiden, ultimately giving us a more modern Fire Emblem Gaiden experience. The re-imagining will still hold true to it’s Gaiden roots, regardless however, and will still feature free-roaming, dungeons, and more. The story will also be much of the same, with the two main protagonists being Alm and Celica.

Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia will be launching on May 19th for the Nintendo 3DS, with brand new Amiibos for each of the main characters (Alm and Celica) coming alongside the titles launch.
