Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia is only a few weeks away, and with another huge Final Emblem adventure ahead of us, Nintendo is making sure we’ll have enough content to tide us over until the next Fire Emblem title (not really, but it just might.)
On May 19th, the games launch day, owners of the game will be able to purchase the Season Pass for the title, which is the second Season Pass Nintendo has ever announced for a title, the first being for The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild. The Season Pass is set to give owners access to 22 pieces of content that will be available across all five DLC packs.
On day one of the games release, the first DLC entitled the “Fledgling Warriors Pack” will give owners access to a new dungeon, and two new maps. The content will be available to owners to play once they have reached about the middle of the game.
Shortly following the first DLC pack, the second and third pack entitled “Undaunted Heroes” and “Lost Altars” will arrive on May 25th, and will give owners access to new dungeons, as well as more challenging content.
A week following the second and third DLC packs, the fourth entitled “Rise of Deliverance” will launch on June 1st, giving players access to new story content which is set a little bit before the start of the games main story, as well as new maps, new conversations, voice acting, and playable characters that aren’t available in the main game.
The fifth DLC pack is yet to be announced, confirmed by Nintendo recently; expect to hear official announcements regarding the final DLC pack sometime during E3. Nintendo has also confirmed that there will be some free DLC on the way for the title, starting on May 19th. The content will be obtainable via a special gift from Goddess Mila, which you can get by playing the game.
Nothing makes me happier than to see a franchise that was once foreign to the Western World, reclaiming it’s rightful place as one of the best franchises in the world and receiving a lot of new entries. Nintendo has already confirmed that a full-fledged Fire Emblem title is in development for the Nintendo Switch and is scheduled to launch sometime in 2018, following Fire Emblem: Warriors which is currently in the works for the Nintendo Switch and is scheduled to launch later this year.
Fire Emblem Echoes: Shadows of Valentia launches in the US on May 19th.
