Mario Kart 8 is one of those titles that upon the first time playing we all thought “Maybe…maybe the Wii U really has a chance”. It was one of those titles that just made the Wii U worth buying, and is likely the only reason why people still turn on their Wii U’s today.
Perhaps I am being a bit too harsh, but it would be an understatement to say that many of us are just not ready to leave Mario Kart 8 behind, it just still feels so fresh and new. If you’re one of those people, well you’re in luck; as Nintendo has officially announced that the title will be speeding it’s way onto the Nintendo Switch, along with some notable improvements.
First and foremost, the upgraded version of the title is set to include some brand new characters, such as King Boo, Inkling Girl and Inkling Boy, Dry Bones, and everyone favorite evil baby, Bowser Jr.
The title will also include brand new race tacks such as Yoshi’s Circuit, and a Splatoon Race Course. New modes such as Balloon Battle and Bob-omb Blast are also to be available within the title with those modes receiving Urchin Underpass and Battle Stadium as a few of it’s new courses. While the title will be able to play in full 1080p 60fps while the Nintendo Switch is in TV mode, you’ll be happy to know that you’ll also be able to play it along with up to eight friends and their Switch consoles via local multiplayer, as well.
Mario Kart 8 Deluxe is set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch on April 28th
