It’s been a long wait for the next Mass Effect adventure, and while the wait hasn’t been as long as some of the other titles that have finally made their way to store shelves this past year; the desire for yet another intergalactic journey has been growing with each bit of information regarding Mass Effect: Andromeda we received.

Now, the wait is just about over; as EA and Bioware have officially announced that the title will be arriving on March 21st, 2017 in North America, and March 23rd, 2017 in Europe.  The development teams had the following to say regarding the title:

Mass Effect: Andromeda is our most ambitious Mass Effect game to date. We’re telling completely new stories, creating new characters, new planets, new species, and introducing new gameplay systems. And for the first time, we’re bringing Mass Effect to the FrostbiteTM game engine, an incredible engine that’s delivering a tremendous graphical jump from the trilogy to Mass Effect: Andromeda. To deliver on this, we’re taking all the time we can to make sure you’re getting the best possible experience.

The announcement also went to on to explain that the development teams had members from the studio take home a special “holiday build” of the title during the Holiday break, for them to test and play as much as possible. This ensured for proper feedback to me given after a several week period of playing long hours of the title, and has been stated to be a “key factor” in helping them lock in the release date.

It’s great to see yet another big title arriving much sooner than Summer or Fall 2017. With the very little footage of the game we’ve been shown ever since it’s announcement, many were lead to believe that the title was still a bit far off, but it seems the development process has been a successful and speedy one!

Mass Effect: Andromeda will launch for Xbox One, PlayStation 4, and PC.
