Classic Mega Man has had his time in the spotlight for far to long, it’s time for X to shine! Earlier this year, we received the surprising announcement that the Mega Man X titles were getting a polishing and were soon to be released via two collections which would launch on next-gen platforms; today we’ve received some new details including an official release date via a brand new announcement trailer!
The trailer reveals that the first collection of the two will feature Mega Man X titles 1-4 while the second of the two in the collection will contain titles 5-8. Each game will have enhanced visuals, as well as an option for a high-resolution filter. The games will also feature a museum of art, music, and videos which will overall showcase some of the titles finest media pieces from throughout the years. Both collections will also feature a new X Challenge mode, where players will face off against two bosses at once.
Overall, it seems Capcom still knows how to put together a proper collection bundle, while making things feel fresh all at the same time! Mega Man X Legacy Collection and Mega Man X Legacy Collection 2 will both launch on July 24th for PC, PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Nintendo Switch.
