If you might have been looking to get your hands on Gears of War 4, a few days early on the 7th, as opposed to it’s worldwide launch on the 11th, your only hope was to purchase the Ultimate Edition collection for the title, and unfortunately, it has just been confirmed that it is no longer available at Gamestop stores around the nation.
Community manager for The Coalition, Adam Flectcher, recently tweeted out the following message:
It appears http://GameStop.com is sold out of the physical version of Gears 4: UE. I recommend checking local stores to preorder!”
In addition to this, it has also been confirmed that the only copies are sold out as well. So if you were looking to pre-order a physical copy online, you’re out of luck. The steelbook is really the only extra item you get in purchasing the Ultimate Edition, that cannot be obtained via purchasing the digital version, of the ultimate edition. If you’re still set on getting your hands on a physical copy of the Ultimate Edition, now is probably your final chance to start looking at other retailers.
Gears of War 4: Ultimate Edition, includes the season pass, Gears 1-3 via Xbox 360 Backwards Compatibility, and exclusive player and weapon skins. The ultimate edition also allows players to start players to start playing 4 days before the official launch.
Gears of War 4 officially launches on for Xbox One and Windows 10 PC, on October 11th.
