Next month the Game Developers Conference is set to take place in San Francisco, California from March 14-18th.
It’s been expected that this years GDC is will be focused mostly on Virtual Reality, something that has been speculated to be the “next big thing” within the gaming industry, yet at the same time, has been receiving mixed feelings. I’m one of those people who don’t feel like us as gamer’s are quite ready to make the switch to VR.
Regardless of this though, Sony has announced that they will be holding their own PlayStation VR event at GDC 2016 next month. The event is set to be invitation-only where attendees will receive more details regarding the device as well as the ability to have hands-on time with it and mess around with some demos.
Aside from this however, not much else has been reported as to what will be taking place during the event. Many are speculating that it wouldn’t be too far fetched for Sony to announce an official release date as well as pricing for the device. With both the Oculus Rift and HTC Vive’s full details already formally announced and revealed to the public, Sony will be the last company to specify launch details regarding theirs, so we’ll just have to cross are fingers and see!
Game Developers Conference 2016 will be taking place from March 14th-March 18th, with the PlayStation VR event taking place on March 15th from 2pm-6pm PT/5pm-8pm ET
