It seems we just cannot catch a break from Pokemon announcements and reveals this week, and now with the 25th Anniversary celebration revving up, this will likely be the case throughout a lot of the year. This report however, if true, may be the most exciting news that we’ve all been waiting for.
According to the folks over at CentrPokemon, close and likely credible sources close to them have confirmed that remakes of the 2006 Pokemon titles Diamond and Pearl are currently in development, and are set to arrive on the Nintendo Switch sometime during 2021. The report goes on to state that The Pokemon Company is set to unveil the remakes of these games sometime during February (likely during Pokemon Day). It’s also mentioned that unlike the more casual “Pokemon Let’s Go” titles, these upcoming remakes will instead return to the more core Pokemon experience, much like what we’ve seen with prior remake titles (Omega Ruby/Alpha Sapphire, Heart Gold/Soul Silver, Fire Red/Leaf Green).
This news definitely has me stoked if true! I mean, let’s be honest here; Generation 4 remakes have all been but officially confirmed by TPCI themselves throughout the years and with no indication thus far of further Generation 8 expansion DLC and or Generation 9 happening this year, it’s a very safe bet that we will in fact be receiving Sinnoh Remakes this year – in one shape or another. Of course, with nothing having been been confirmed by Nintendo or The Pokemon Company themselves as of yet, you’ll want to take this report with a grain of salt. February isn’t too far off now, it’s only a matter of time till we know whether will be returning to Sinnoh sooner than later – or not at all.
