Pokemon Gold & Silver Coming to 3DS via Virtual Console Glake Riuno June 6, 2017 3DS, Featured, Gaming News Second generation Pokemon is by far my favorite Pokemon Generation. Sure, it clashes with 4th generation every now and then, but most days – it’s my all-time favorite. Not too long ago, we officially saw the release of Pokemon Red, Blue, and Yellow on the 3DS eShop, which allowed everyone to travel across the Kanto region once again, along with adding a few new features such as wireless battling and trading with local 3DS’s. Now, a year later, we’ll be able to do pretty much the same thing all over again, except this time we’ll be journeying back to the Johto region! During the Pokemon themed Nintendo Direct presentation which took place today, Nintendo & The Pokemon Company have announced that both Pokemon Gold, and Pokemon Silver will be arriving on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console this September! Players will be able to journey across the Johto region and relive the Golden (and Silver) days of Pokemon. The Virtual Console release of the title will allow players to trade and battle locally with their friends, as well as transport Pokemon caught in the game to their Pokemon Bank. Personally, I skipped out on the Generation 1 releases on the Virtual Console last year, but I just cannot skip over Generation 2. Thank you Nintendo for providing us with these gems! Pokemon Gold & Silver release on the Nintendo 3DS Virtual Console on September 22nd, 2017.
