Square Enix’s beautiful RPG headed to the Nintendo Switch this year, Project Octopath Traveler, may have just had it’s released date leaked by none other than Amazon, of course. Throughout the several months since the games announcement, Square Enix has provided updates regarding the game every now and then, including a recent demo which launched on the Nintendo Switch eShop last year; despite this, so far we only know the game is slated for a 2018 release.

Amazon Germany however, may have let the cat out of the bag a bit early, as the game has recently been listed on the website with a release date of August 17th, which also just so happens to be a Friday, the usual day when Nintendo releases their titles in Europe.

While August is still a bit a way’s off, it’s nice to know that the game will most likely be keeping it’s 2018 release window, and will be out before the Holiday’s. Project Octopath Traveler is one of the few RPG’s that have immediately gotten my attention throughout the past several years, and I cannot wait to see what Square Enix has in store with the title.
