Slimmer is always better right? Well Sony sure does think so, early this morning Sony held a special briefing in the UK to announce a “Slim” product, as many assumed, and were in fact correct, Sony revealed that the PlayStation Vita Slim, which launched in Japan in the fall, is indeed on it’s way to the UK next Friday on February 7th!
The PS Vita Slim has reported to be 20% slimmer, and 15% lighter than its predecessor, and will be slightly cheaper than the original Vita was when it first launched. The new Slim handheld will with 1GB of internal storage, a new micro USB charging port, smaller touch-pad, and of course the swap to an IPS LED screen, all for £180, which equals out to around $300USD. Currently, no word about a possible US release has been stated, but we’ll keep you updated if that changes, in the mean time, enjoy your slimmer Vita Europe!
