There have been a lot of innovate gaming themed events within the video game industry throughout the past decade or so, and it seems every year, events get more and more innovative, ultimately offering an engaging and fun experience for gamer’s of all sorts.

With that said, today we are taking a look at probably one of the most innovative upcoming video game events, I’ve personally ever seen. And it’s taking place right here in the EXP4ALL hometown, the Twin Cities, Minnesota.

    Runners Transparent

Ran by Knexus LLC, The Bit Run, is the world’s first video game themed 4K (Around 2.5 miles) and 8K race (Around 5 miles), where participants of the event will partake in both a distance challenge as well as a series of gaming related challenges! Participants of the 4K race will complete two video game challenges (Runbow and Super Smash Bros), while participants of the 8K will complete three challenges, adding the addition of Mario Kart 8. You may want to stock up on the energy drinks, as there won’t be a team to help carry your way to victory! The Bit Run will be an ultimate free for all, with all racers competing against each other in order to receive the highest rank, which will be indicated by a sticker on their racing bib. Top racers from each respective race will receive download codes for Runbow, T-Shirts, and tickets to Gamer’s Rhapsody, which is another event also organized by Knexus LLC.

__ravepulseAlongside the challenges, participants will be treated to blood pumping tunes by Ravepulse, who is a well known Twin Cities DJ, who specializes in anime, video game, pop, and nerd culture music. If that isn’t enough to get you going throughout the event, the 7-person video game band, Do A Barrel Roll, also based out of the Twin Cities, will be doing a performance after the race has concluded.

Gamer’s for sometime now, have always been criticized as being non-physically active, and lazy; well, The Bit Run puts that label straight in the trash, as various local gamer’s of all sorts are preparing to participate in the event.

For those of you who are interested in either participating in The Bit Run, or simply interested in showing up to see the race take place, the event will be taking place on Sunday, July 31st, at the Richfield Veterans Park 6335 Portland Ave, Richfield, MN 55423. The 8K race is currently scheduled to begin at 8:30am, with the 4K race following shortly afterwards at 9:00am. The overall event will conlcude at 12pm.

Tickets for the event are on sale right now, and will run you anywhere from $15-$40 depending on the date you sign up as well as the distance you decide to run. You can purchase tickets by visiting the official The Bit Run website.

You can also let them, and everyone else attending that you’ll be there by RSVP’ing on the Facebook Event Page, and while you’re at it, free feel to drop The Bit Run a like on their Facebook page as well!
