Remember that piece I did on the Silent Hills game being canceled? Well it has only gotten weirder since then. The playable trailer, or PT, was removed from the PSN. The weird part, which came with no warning, was how they completely scrubbed it from the PSN altogether. So sorry if you previously downloaded it but it no longer exist. Unless it was on your PS4 before it was erased it is impossible to go back and get it. There has been wide spread outrage of this as well since there was no prior warning that PT would be removed from existence. I take that back, three days after PT was removed I received a message stating that I would not be able to re-download PT. A little f-ing late to the party, don’t you think Sony?
Hold on to your hat though because it gets even crazier. Ever since the total scrub of PT, used PS4’s on Ebay with PT installed have almost doubled in value. There have been at least two dozen instances of this so far. PS4’s with PT installed going for close to a grand. So far the confirmed record is a crazy 1800 dollars! 1800 dollars for a free playable teaser! See, I told everyone to go and download PT right away and if you did I made you over a grand. You’re welcome. I don’t know what would compel someone to spend that much but C’est la vie. The real question is why did Konami cancel a game that causes such a commotion from the teaser alone? At this point the actual game would make insane amounts of money with little effort. Supposedly it is because of the recent falling out between Konami and Kojima (along with most of his team).
A petition was started not long after the teaser was pulled and seems close to 200 thousand votes in only a week or so. Pull your shit together guys! I’ve already been kind of ‘meh’ when it comes to Metal Gear or Silent Hill for years now since it usually turns out to be more of the same. When you finally get a chance to come up with a masterpiece of a game and make out like gang busters you throw it away? For what? Stop bitching, get del Toro and Reedus on the line and get to work. It’s been a long time since Silent Hill was widely acclaimed at all and it should not be thrown away so lightly. Hell, the only Konami game I’ve had any interest in for years is Suikoden and it is still far more likely Silent Hills will get done before that happens. Like a mountain man once said “Don’t say anything, just do it.”
