E3 2018 literally feels like it was yesterday, time sure does fly. And while it may seem a bit too early to discuss E3 2019, or board that E3 2019 hype-train; the folks who run the Electronic Entertainment Expo themselves, are wasting no time – and have already unveiled a bit of information regarding next years show. It was in this that readers discovered that Sony was missing from the list of the developers and other companies that will be attending the show, with it shortly being confirmed that Sony would not be in attendance for next years show.
This is a surprise to many, as while many of the other major companies have sort of drifted away from E3 in one way or another throughout the years, Sony has always kept it a constant to have a very strong E3 presence, Gamescom presence, and even keeping the PlayStation Experience year-end event going on an annual basis – up until this year.
It doesn’t take a genius to realize that there is a bit more than what meets the eye, here. With this console generation clearly at it’s end now, and with official confirmation that a PlayStation 5 is in fact on the way – many are wondering if Sony may be preparing an exclusive event of their own to unveil their next generation console. It’s a bit too early to tell, and we have even less to go off of now that PlayStation Experience will not be happening this year, so it may be quite sometime before we’re able to hear about plans for the future of PlayStation.
E3 2019 is set to take place from June 11th – 13th.
