Earlier this year, it remained clear that Sony let the trademark for “The Last Guardian” expire. Shortly after this information made it’s way to the web, and everyone began to panic and proclaim the game dead, Sony made it clear that the game had not been cancelled. It was during this time, that many began to assume that the title, may in face still be in-development, except under a different name all-together.

It has been almost 10 years since the first reveal of The Last Guardian, and since then, we’ve heard close to absolutely nothing about the game.  With the PlayStation 4 now out, and selling quite well, and with E3 just under a week away, there is a very good chance we may actually see and hear about this title once again, even if it is under a different title.

“The Guardian” a very large and prominent US news website recently made claims that The Last Guardian would be at E3 this year. The site stated in the article:

Yes, we know it has been in development hell since 2007, but we have it on very good authority that this will be the year that Team Ico finally presents its follow-up to much loved classics Ico and Shadow of the Colossus. Whether it’ll bear any relation to the game last shown at E3 in 2009 is anyone’s guess

Hopefully, whatever source it is that is providing them with this information, is accurate. Sony has been pretty quiet themselves when it comes to what they have in-store for first party titles being shown off at this years E3. We know the Uncharted: The Nathan Drake Collection is on the way, with Uncharted 4 coming early next year, along with the remake of Ratchet & Clank. But aside from that, not much as been said. Hopefully, a re-reveal of The Last Guardian will be made as a surprise, along with a release date for this year. Would be nice right?
