The Legend of Zelda Wii U No Longer on Schedule for 2015 + E3 No Show

Some very disappointing news came out today as producer of The Legend of Zelda series, Eiji Aonuma released a development update regarding the long awaited Legend of Zelda for the Wii U. Aonuma stated that the game is no longer being developed with a 2015 release as the “number one priority”, basically going on to confirm that the games release has been pushed into 2016.

Within the update, Aonuma mentions that himself, as well as the team working on the game have sprung new ideas for the game, and the overall scale of what they can do with the game to make it the best game as possible have grown tremendously ever since confirming the game for a 2015 release during the VGA’s.

Update: Just recently it was also announced via Miiverse by Eiji, that The Legend of Zelda for Wii U will not be shown at E3 this year. (At least we know for sure now that Nintendo will be at E3 2015) Here is the official statement regarding the games to-be absence.

As I said in the video, we would like to take this time so we can bring you a very special experience, by making the ultimate Zelda game. Since we’d like to focus on developing the game we’ve decided to not show the game at this year’s E3. Thank you for your continued support, and I hope you’ll look forward to the game!

We know many Zelda fans will be disappointed by this news, but it seems like Nintendo is really striving hard to make this the best Zelda game yet. I’m really interested to know how the story development is coming along, personally.
