In case you’re like me and have found yourself a bit more interested in Sonic lately than you generally usually probably are due to the recent release and success of the Sonic 2 movie; you’ll be happy to know that we’ve got something coming soon that just might give you that blue-hedgehog-high that you’ve been craving – at least until the Knuckles live action series drops?
Sonic Prime is the next major Sonic cartoon set to arrive, and seems to be taking a visual approach much more similar to the retro Sonic titles rather than the most casual, Sonic Boom series from several years ago. While details on the plot are still a bit scarce, it has been confirmed that this will be more of a “multiverse” Sonic story, where the character will be on a sort of journey of self-discovery. Sounds a little deep for Sonic, don’t you think? Regardless though, the series is set to be 24 episodes and will be exclusive to Netflix despite all of the recent controversy surrounding the movie streaming, platform giant.

While no release date for the series has been announced as of yet, it’s likely to arrive sometime before the end of the year, or perhaps in tandem with the recently announced Sonic open world title that is yet to receive a proper unveiling. I guess we’ll just have to wait and see.
