Some very exciting new for all of you who have been looking forward to getting your hands on the Banjo Kazooie inspired title, Yooka-Laylee. However, let’s get the unfortunate news out of the way first. If you’ve been looking forward to playing the game on the Wii U, you’ll likely be saddened to hear that the Wii U version has been announced to have been canned for a Nintendo Switch release, instead. This isn’t very surprising considering production of the Wii U is soon to come to an end, not to mention the system not being all that praised at the moment.
Now, onto the good news! Playtonic Games have officially announced that Yooka-Laylee will be arriving on Xbox One, PS4, Mac, PC, and Linus on April 11th, 2017! It’s great to hear that we won’t have to wait any later than spring of 2017 to get our hands on the title.
The game is currently available to pre-order right now for those who are not Kickstarter backers. For those of you who are backers, that opted in for the Wii U version, you’ll be able to change your order, for free, eligible to upgrade to any other platform Yooka-Laylee will be available on. If you may be one of those who are interested in picking up the copy for the Nintendo Switch, unfortunately a release date has not yet been announced for the title on the platform; more information will likely come following the release of the Switch.
Yooka-Laylee will likely bring a very nostalgic experience for those who have been playing games for awhile now, and will likely bring a refreshing experience to those who may have recently picked up the sticks throughout the last few generations or so. Being a huge Banjo Kazooie fan, I am dying to get my hands on this new IP just be able to play something that’s somewhat similar.
